St. Lucie

We’re in the second have of our season in the Florida State League, 80-something games into 140 scheduled overall.   Just finished our 2nd game of a 3 game series w/ the St. Lucie Mets.  It was Michael Jackson tribute night at the park, and as I took out our lineup card before the game I was given a replica white-rhinestone glove that everyone had on during the pre-game meeting.  They took a picture for milb.com so maybe I can track that down in the future.

*update – here’s that photo:

New York Mets Batting Practice

May 4th, 2006 3 comments

Yes it’s been a while since the last entry.  I suppose that is what getting married and moving will do…
Anyways, I had a chance to see the Mets come to town last weekend, and or course I had my camera.
Here is some video from the Mets’ batting practice.  The big things that jump out to me watching these guys hit is efficiency and accuracy.  They are not necessarily “going after it” but there is little wasted movement and you always hear them hitting the ball squarely on the barrel.  Pre-game BP is more of a time to work on “skills” than to improve your ability.  You should have already taken care of that in your training!

The hitters are Carlos Delgado, Cliff Floyd, unknown, Ramon Castro, Jose Valentin, Chris Woodward and Julio Franco

And just an extra:

Billy Wagner
