New York Yankees’ shortstop, Derek Jeter, is well known for his ability to stay “inside” the ball. This video gives his quick explanation on what he does with his swing to handle the inside pitch:

Jeff-With all respect to you and Jeter, what he says he does (linear) and what he does (rotation) are NOT the same
what he’s explaining is not necessarily “linear” although it may look like it just because he’s only moving his hands. i’d make the argument that good rotation allows you to actually stay inside the ball better, and he certainly does both well.
